Lots 200 to 242 in Whyte's Important Irish Art auction on 26 May are from the CAP Art Dublin Collection. This collection presents works by various recipients of The CAP Foundation Award.
This award program, set up by Tony and Linda Pilaro, through their company, CAP Advisors began in 1998 and ran for 10 years. The award was given to two graduating students of NCAD, the purpose of which was to aid each student in their transition from student to independent artist. Each year the two winners were granted a rent free residency in purpose built studios in the CAP property in Dublin – a very valuable first step for a young professional artist
This collection presents works by various recipients of The CAP Foundation Award as well as a couple of works by established artists such as Michael Cullen and Guggi from the CAP collection.
These works were part of a larger private art collection and have been very kindly donated by the Pilaro family to the RDS to help fund the development of the RDS Visual Art Awards.
